Mike Krzyzewski, the famous Basketball Coach was born on February 13th of 1947. He was born in in Chicago, Illinois to his parents William and Emily Krzyzewski who both were catholic. Hence, Mike was raised as a Catholic.His parents were also Police- Americans.

Mike Krzyzewski graduated from University at the United States Military Academy in 1969 which is at West Point, New York.Mike was also the captain of the Army basketball team in his senior year where he played under renowned coach Bob Knight.


The coach then served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1974 where he reached the rank of captain after his discharge. Mike then started his coaching career as an assistant on Bob Knight's Indiana Hoosiers staff during the 1974- 1975 season.
