The deadly car crash happened in 2019 around 1 pm near the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Pine Bluff Road outside Aberdeen. After that accident, his father, Keith McCormick, updated people on his son's condition.

Not only that, but it was reported that Elijah was receiving critical care in the intensive care unit. It is reported that McCormick flatlined nine times as he fought for his life. Due to the deadly car crash, he spent 79 days in the hospital and had ten surgeries. He even had open heart surgery. 

It was revealed that Elijah's mom signed him up for American Idol before his car accident and had his ID number and everything. Now, McCormick's dream is coming true.

Elijah McCormick was born to his parents, Keith McCormick (Father) and Teshauna McCormick (Mother), in Pinecrest, North Carolina. The 21-year-old car crash survivor was interested in music from an early age, and he received great support from his family.

His father owns a landscaping business in Moore and Hoke, Lee County, while his mother served at a children's center as a front desk receptionist. In his family, Elijah even has a younger sister whose name remains a mystery. She finished high school at Pinecrest High School.
