His NFL career began with the Washington Redskins when he got drafted in the 2000 NFL Draft. After that, he played prominently for the team, and after some years, his contract was extended. LaVar Arrington Retired After an Accident: What Is He Doing Now?

On June 18, 2007, LaVar Arrington was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in suburban Maryland. While riding his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14, LaVar Arrington lost control on the Route 50 off-ramp of the Capital Beltway and collided with a guardrail.

After that, he was rushed to Prince George's Medical Center in serious but stable condition. As a result of the accident, LaVar suffered a broken right forearm, broken lower vertebrae, and deep lacerations to his leg. Arrington was cited for two offenses related to the crash: failure to control speed to avoid a collision and operating a vehicle without the appropriate license.

Later, it was announced that he retired from his NFL career. After retirement, Arrington began his career as a broadcaster. He has been a part of many programs. He currently hosts his own program named SportsWeek with Lavar Arrington. In 2019, he also started working on FS1 on the Speak For Yourself sports talk program as a football analyst. 

Apart from his broadcasting career, Arrington is also an entrepreneur who later went on to start his own company. He was also doing in the restaurant business. In 2008, Arrington opened a restaurant named The Sideline in Landover, Maryland; after some cases, it was closed.
